We have an instance. The Tax year in US is Jan-Dec. My husband was filling his tax forms and had to include my income as well. Now the tax year in my home country is not the same. The CPA is asking for the tax return(you call it tax transcript) statement or we need to ask for a tax extension. It could take me quite a few months to pay my taxes in my home country?

Has anybody encountered the same? How did you get through? Any help regarding this would be great.

Guys, I need some help.

I got the NVC case number, as well as the invoice number. However, next Tuesday (03/21) I'll receive an answer regarding a job transfer through the company that I work for. If the answer is positive, I'll request my case to be expedited. My question is:

1 - Should I pay the invoice now or wait for the expedite to be decided? I ask this because I've heard that for cases expedited, the fees are paid at the date of the interview.

2 - Do you know anyone who paid the fees at the NVC and requested the case to be expedited afterwards? How does that work?

You'll probably still go through NVC at the same pace and have to pay fees there ... and get expedite just at interview stage ifnapproved.  NVC expedites mainly apply to medical emergencies.  However it can't hurt to ask. You may want to ask NVC the question you asked us though.

I've been trying to look back at old posts, but I can't figure it out. What does 3 N/As mean?

Hi @juliamccull, so here is a little giveaway that your case has reached a case complete status. You log into your ceac, where you paid the fees online. Click on the DS-260 payment link. Then if you log in to your page, and you notice that one of the "PAID" links turns into an "N/A's" (so usually you would see 2 N/A's, but then one paid turns into the third N/A), you can call to confirm because that is an unofficial sign that you have a case complete.

Hopefully the pictures help.

My country issues two original marriage certificates, one in English and one in my native language. Do I need to send a photocopy of just English or both?

Well I got it only in English & belong to the same country! :)

Has anybody submitted the Tax extension for 2016 as evidence for financial support? Unfortunately We are asked to file an extension by the CPA; as my husband has to include my income( earned in my country of origin) as well with his.It is also required that I file my returns in my country of origin.

And since the tax year in my country is not complete yet, he cannot file his returns for the most recent tax year.

Anybody with the same experience? Or has anybody filed a joint income in the US?

I'm in the process of submitting my documents and wanted to know if it's true not to staple items.  I keep hearing different instructions.  Ex:  my taxes consist of 10 pages. Any advice

I did not staple mine. It was also lengthy. The packet was extremely thick.

I went to the NVC website to pay the fees, but only the AOS fee is available for payment. The Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee is not available yet. Is that normal? Should I pay the AOS fee anyways and wait for the other fee the be available for payment?

Yes, usually the IV fee is available a few days after the AOS fee is available. You can go ahead and pay the AOS fee and then pay the IV fee once it is available.
