Hi all!

Congratulations to all who get their CC!

It has been 10 weeks since NVC received all the documents... When we emailed them - we get response like: please wait due case overload at this time... I haven't seen my husband for months, my life is on hold....

Does anybody know what is the maximum time NVC can process documents?

Hang in there.  You're getting close. If it's been 10 weeks, expect your case to reviewed just any day now. Avg time is about 10 weeks, which is exactly how long it took for me.

Just checked the status of my AOS and IV payments and both show as "PAID". Now just the DS-260 and submission of the documents and we are good to go. With electronic processing it should go quickly. It is interesting that the page says  "Once received, it will take the NVC 2 to 4 weeks to review your case."

Wondering if that is just their standard answer, because in most of the mail processing cases I am seeing in this thread they are taking 12 weeks or more in a lot of cases. The 2-4 weeks seems more what it would take for electronic processing. The NVC website states up to 8 weeks, so they are really all over the place with those dates it looks like.

Yep, it's their standard answer, and yes they're all over the place with the times.  What I've seen is 10-12 weeks processing for mailed in documents, and around 4 for electronic processing.

I mailed mine and it took exactly 10 weeks.

It Should become PAID by Monday. Then 1-2 days after that you will get IV invoice.

I think you can pay both, first AOS then come back to fees page and then pay IV. I just paid both

It states in the website 2-4 weeks but when you called at NVC they will ask you to wait 8weeks before you follow up to them for a status, as they said, they are still reviewing documents. However, I read at some posts previously, that during their time, most of the cases took 2-4 weeks only, but now, due to high volume of filers and documents submitted to them, they adjusted the waiting period

~sigh~

I remember them mentioning a lawyer earlier. I am also using one, looks like it speeds up the process and makes both payments available at the same time when the case number is received by email by the attorney. That's how it was in our case. Also bypasses the DS-261.

Correct. That's the difference between two procedures. I guess @Ninahuanca didn't know that if you don't use lawyer, you can't pay both fees at the same time.
