Well, everyone I have talked to has said it is much faster with email. All the cases I have seen with email processing have reached case complete in 2-3 weeks, so I am expecting CC in another week or so.

7/27/2016: I-130 mailed.

8/02/2016: NOA1.

2/17/2017: NOA2.

2/24/2017: I-130 sent to NVC.

3/03/2017:  I-130 received.

3/09/2017: Case # and invoice # received, AOS and IV fees paid.

3/16/2017: DS-260 submitted; AOS and IV packets sent with EP.

4/06/2017: Case complete.

 

Consulate

4/15/2017: Interview email (P4).

5/09/2017: Medical.

5/15/2017: Interview.

5/19/2017: Visa in hand.

Received interview date today! 

 

Scan date: November 22

CC: March 27

Interview: May 30 in Juarez (even tho it is very end of May I don't care as long as we have the date!!!) 

 

hoping for cc's for everyone very soon!

i got a checklist last week for wrong birth certificate. I'm hoping it wont take as long for a cc....

Not sure at all -- my CPA told me that my filing status cannot be amended. I will ask her the details and post back.

In order to file Married Filing Jointly, or to file Married filing Separately with an exemption for your spouse, your spouse must have either a TIN or an SSN.  If he does not, you can only file Married Filing Separately.  If you are planning to file for an extension and work on getting your spouse a TIN...it's a lot of paperwork.

 

My suggestion would be to file MFS for this year and take the hit to avoid the paperwork and hassle.  Once your spouse receives their SSN, you can always amend your taxes.

 

You have 3 years to amend taxes once filed.
