 Ours was i dunno how, but maybe because too much backlogs

Two factors for having your scan date as i read if am not mistaken from SJLOVE

 

Scenario 1

1. Submission or finishing your DS-260 on say,  january 1

2. Sending the packet on january 1, delivered on january 3, they scanned the document and entered it to their system on january 14

scandate would be january 14

 

scenario 2 

 

1. Sending the packet on january 1, delivered on january 3, they scanned the document and entered it to their system on january 3

 

2. Submission or finishing your DS-260 on say,  january 19

 

scandate would be January 19

Oh, ic, i submitted my ds-260 on March 22

Thank you! I'm getting my interview date at the same times as the people who got CCs on late Feb. and early to mid Mar. They really do wait until the end of the month and give everyone dates pretty much all at the same time.

That's got be tough. You don't need ITIN to amend the returns. Once your spouse arrives and has SSN, you can use that to amend your returns. [Just in case you didn't know, I thought to bring to your notice that you don't need to go through all the hassle of applying for ITIN]

We have not been in this situation, but just take the employment letter from new job with you for interview. Also prepare updated I-864 with new employer information in it and take that for interview as well. If the income has not decreased, I don't think there should be any issue.

Really, I think I am the only one here with tricky queries most of the time....

 

Does it work, actually? I was against my husband switching jobs until the entire process is complete just to avoid hiccups!

I can not answer for certain, but technically there is no such requirement as not changing jobs for Affidavit of Support. You should be fine. Just make sure to prepare the forms and evidences as I mentioned earlier and take them with you for interview. Just remember, don't mention the change of job unless asked to you. If they ask when does your husband work, mention that "he currently works at the said location. He recently changed the job. We do have employment letter and updated I-864, should you require it."

 

Go to India portal, I think I have seen some case like this there in past.

Yes...we seem to have alot if similar days throughout this process .I'm going to contact them the 3rd week in May.

We did ask for a senator 2 weeks ago, we sent them privacy release form, and we have followed up as well, and havent received feedback again from them.. good luck on your case, wish you all the best

Ugh, we went to the US Embassy in New Delhi and got the certificate copy of hubby's passport. There goes our $50 bucks and time 

 

Also, figured out that I cannot amend the filing status, hence I will be overpaying (as usual). C'est la vie...
