I called NVC and that person told me that no one can tell you if anyone has opened your file yet or not. We cannot see that in our system. We can only see if your case has been completed or not. Your review time will over on April 13th. So starting from Scan date 26th January - 13th April, it's been in review. I told him that the last person I talked to told be that no one has touched my file yet. He said I don't know how they checked but I cannot see anything on my system. So basically the all 11 weeks is called the review time. 

I find it odd that they said they can't tell if your file has been opened. When I called a week ago they told me my documents are received but that they haven't strted reviewing them yet. So they must know somehow.

yes thats correct if thats the date NVC told you ... not just the date your mail tracking etc says it arrived.

I asked about getting a supervisor to look at it and he said that it wouldn't be a smart choice because it could delay it at this point if someone had started it. 

 

Our case has been a day away every time they've changed from 4weeks to 6, 6 to 8 and now to 11. More than just a little frustrating. 

It seems everyone is in the same boat at the moment.

The reason they know whether or not they have recieved your documents,  the rep. Told me that the cover letter is scan and it appears in their system.

Thanks!  It was only fast for the missing birth certificate.  I messed up a lot along the way.  I just found this forum last week, and it helped a lot.

Thank you.  There's always hope.  My case was crazy.  I started all this February 2016.  I finally sent out my AOS package early November 2016.  Didn't even realize I needed to fill out DS260 until January 9.  Got a checklist on January 23 for I864 and birth certificate.  Thought I was supposed to bring birth certificate to interview.   Finally realized, and mailed it in March.  Then, found this forum after all this mess.  So, there's always hope.

Just called nvc they told me it was under review finally so I'm hopping for 1 piece of paper it doesn't take 11 weeks for review since it's just a passport copy does anybody now.. tried to speak to a supervisor and as always there is none lol pathetic

Just called NVC.  Wife's interview is May 8.
