Visa Issued.

I have a question from friends recently moved into USA, Lets say in 2017 that

1- How many days it took you to receive your GC after entering USA?

2-Does the GC automatically gets applied when you enter USA or you need to submit some form?

3-Does it speed up your process if you submit your fees immediately and may travel after a while or it stays the same?

@ark9187 answered accurately.  And for Social Security card, that arrives 3 weeks after entry to the US; this is only if you had indicated on the DS-260 that you would like the Social Security card be mailed to your US address

Folks,

I have benefited immensely from the information shared on VJ, and wanted to share the details of my own case:

Scan date: 1/12/2017

Supervisor review: 3/10/2017

CC: 3/23/2017 (confirmed via phone and still waiting for official NVC email)

Congrats!

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

@Nouman sh

1. Takes around 6 weeks from day of entry.

2. No separate form I think, but you have to pay the GC fee online (used to be $165 and now is ~$220)

3. Submit your fee anytime before you travel. As long as you do it BEFORE you travel, the exact time of submission does not matter. They start processing GC only after you enter the U.S.

Thanks mate and Good luck for your interview

My wife is similar to you.  Case complete March 13, we received the email on March 21st.  I am hoping we get an interview date in the next two weeks for May.  Crossed fingers

Hi everyone. I hope you all are having a nice weekend.

I called NVC last week to see if we've been scheduled an interview date yet. No luck such yet. I was told to call back during the first week of April and see if we've been scheduled for May. Does anyone know when they usually begin scheduling for the next months interview... is it really in the beginning of April or will they begin at the end of March (this coming week)? Is there any point to call this week and check?

Thanks.
