Nothing happened last week neither for March filers not for February filers, just January filers are more or less optimistic about getting their interview letters somewhere on August-September. 

   What do you think guys? I hoped we could get it those months ...

When I filed I knew there was going to be a wait, never imagine it was going to take this long. I figure I file in March, get an interview around May, and take the oath mid July. Not to be.

I called the USCIS customer service number and lady informed me that my local USCIS office takes care of both San Antonio and Austin appointments and oath ceremonies. My case hasn't moved since 05/01/17 and I don't expect to get an interview until mid September only to take the oath in mid December.

Yes, I also did not predict it gonna be so long. My husband and me want to travel to Europe quite often this autumn to visit his friends, etc in Germany and France.... I still want to hope We will get the interview invitation letter befor beginning- mid July, could have the interview before mid August and the Oath depends how often it's going on in FO. Ok, lets see. My case is straitforward and simple I guess.

@Investinmiami  I didn't have the luck in finding your specific field office from the past months. It's really hard to predict when you have no reference from previous timelines. I guess you're the only one who's a Visa journey member from your FO? :).  What I've noticed , for the past 3 months there's a lot of filers in Florida (in general), who are still waiting for their interview schedule dates. Hopefully you'll hear update soon! We all deserve a vacation after this! That's for sure! After all who doesn't like to use a brand new , fresh and still crisp US passport? :D

An update from my end: spoke to L2 officer last night (2nd time since I did my FP) and she advised that someone forgot to update my case with the FP and that's why it wasn't moving (still not in line) but that the background check is still pending; however, she also said that I should be expecting a letter within 15 business days (I'm assuming the interview letter?!) with the interview date. Sounds strange to me: if the background check is still pending, how are they in a position to send me an interview letter in 3 calendar weeks?

My forum-based experience is that whether it is L2 or L1 officer, they offer inconsistent and contradictory responses and they are probably trained to get rid of an applicant in the most cost-effective way and say whatever is necessary to accomplish this goal. :) That is my conclusion based on what people say about responses they get and my personal experience while talking with USCIS people over the phone (pretty much waste of time).

You're probably right, however, if I don't receive said letter within 15 biz days they'll get another call from me and they'll need to get very creative as to why this didn't materialize...

Well, I can tell you: (1) unexpected delays in processing or (2) large number of other non N-400 applications that had to be urgently handled or (3) glitch in the computer system, or (4) blame the postal services, etc, or just they would tell you that no such letter was scheduled to be dispatched and the previous response was wrong.

 

But hopefully the response you got was right and you will get a letter. As my lawyer used to say, USCIS works fine most of the time and the number of complains you see on the web is high because other people do not bother to write how happy they are with the process.

Hey guys, just came back from the interview. I passed it. Yayyyyy. The whole thing took about 45mins. The oath is scheduled on the 4th of July. I asked about the photos since I didn't include them in the application when I filed N400, the office told me they changed the policy a bit and they now use the pictures they take at the fingerprint appointment instead. Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any.

congratulations. I think 4th of July is holiday.
