I have a question guys. My family and I are planning a quick getaway to Cancun the last weekend of May. We plan on staying about 4 or 5 days. Now, I understand I cannot take the oath before my anniversary date (05/30/17) so my question is. Will I have any trouble traveling outside the US right before I take the oath?

Greetings all! Well I haven't been here since I got my G/C, back in 2011. VJ was instrumental in our journey, our k1 journey from ??. I just mailed my N400 envelope to Texas on March 7th. Fingers crossed that it was completed ✅ I would like to visit Canada in the fall, but would prefer to go with my American p/p! Good Luck all

Hi there !  long time VJ member and to be honest we could not have got our K1 without the help of you guys. Finally decided to file my N-400.

I don't trust myself to update the line properly so if anyone could assist ?

 

Filed my N-400 on March 3rd. to Phoenix, AZ location

Arrived at 12:46pm Monday March 6th. I live in North Indiana I guess my only choice will be the Indianapolis office.

Paid via good old fashioned paper check, as of this time no notice that it has been cashed. :/ in hindsight I should have used my CC.

We also got our email and sms notification yesterday for my wife's N400. We too are good for now, just waiting now for the NOA and biometrics letter.

Legend: 
GC-Date: The 'Resident Since' Date located on your first green card.
Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.
Cashd: Date your check was cashed / credit card was charged by USCIS.
NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview.

March filer here !

 

I sent our forms 3/6, via USPS Priority overnight, received by PO box in Dallas on 3/8. I included both mine and my husband's in same envelope with separate coversheets and checks /packages. We are both filing under 5 year rule. I have been a resident since 2008 , he has been here for more than 20 yrs. 

I have to imagine that they get hundreds of these envelopes a day if not more. I would imagine it pretty much goes in a pile and then it gets sorted by state or however they have it divided among the agents. Also, it is now tax season so a lot of folks would use their returns to pay for this extra expense.

So my expectation is that they would get to our envelope sometimes early next week and cash the check.

We included the e-notification forms in there but realized we forgot to put our A# on them ! Out of the entire package, these were the only 2 pages that didn't have A#s ! they were thoroughly attached to each of the N-400 forms so hopefully they will not get missed.

  • 07/30/2007 After no touches and no other signs we just got an email with the APPROVAL of I130....Thank God !....now what ?

  • 08/07/2007 Case received by NVC and case number assigned :))

  • 08/13/2007 DS3032 and AOS bill were generated

  • 08/14/2007 Emailed choice of agent ...i'm so curious when they will accept it...hopefully soon

  • 08/21/2007 DS3032 and AOS fee bill arive in mail

  • 08/27/2007 paid AOS fee bill
  • 8/28/2007 DS3032 choice of agent accepted
  • 9/3/2007 IV fee bill generated
