We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxxxxx. We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by May 25, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. 03/18/17 -  N-400 PACKAGE SENT

03/20/17 -  N-400 PACKAGE RECEIVED BY USCIS.

03/23/17 -  CREDIT CARD PROCESSED

04/01/17 - NOA (I-797C) RECEIVED

04/19/17 - BIOMETRICS / FINGERPRINT APPOINTMENT

04/21/17 - E-NOTICE RECEIVED  "CASE IS IN LINE FOR AN INTERVIEW"

03/12/18 - E-NOTICE RECEIVED  "INTERVIEW HAS BEEN SCHEDULED AND NOTICE IS BEING SENT THROUGH MAIL"

PAINT ME RED, I'm a US Citizen!!!

 

Sorry for the delay, we arrived back from Mexico the day before my interview and we just closed on a new house; it's been a bit crazy here!

 

My interview was at 8am on Thursday 4/19, I arrived at the check-in desk at 7:30 exactly for my 8am interview time (the check-in lady downstairs wasn't actually going to let me up until 7:30 ON THE DOT) 

I was called in at 7:45am 

My interviewer was very nice, businesslike but friendly but we did chat a little about my country.

I swore to tell the truth, then we went through the N-400 question by question, and it took a while to add the times I had travelled out of the country in the 13 months since I sent in N-400, plus I had changed jobs so he made notes to that effect.

My questions were:

Who wrote the declaration of independence?

What are three of the original 13 states?

What is one state bordering Canada?

What is the party of the current President?

Who signs bills into law? (can't remember the exact wording)

What are the two main political parties in the US?

He asked me if I was able to attend oath ceremony that afternoon at 1:30pm, I think I might have said "hell yes."

 

We rolled around Southcenter and came back at 1pm. The ceremony didn't end up starting until about 2:30 as there was some confusion with the form version some people had been given and it took a while for the officers to confirm that the "wrong" forms were actually okay. Someone had arrived with an oath ceremony letter and not actually scheduled that day, not sure what had happened there but I hope the man had not had to come far because they did not let him join.

 

The ceremony itself was brief but more emotional for me than I expected it to be. We stood for the National Anthem and then there was an introduction by the officer in charge (Seattle Director not there that day) 77 people were becoming citizens that day from 27 countries. We all stood up as they announced our country of current citizenship and then remained standing as we took the oath of allegiance. We sat, there was some more speech and then the certificates were handed out. 

 

Super proud and happy to be a US citizen finally and to be done with immigration :) 

Good luck and speedy processing to those still waiting.

Sorry for the delay, we arrived back from Mexico the day before my interview and we just closed on a new house; it's been a bit crazy here!

 

My interview was at 8am on Thursday 4/19, I arrived at the check-in desk at 7:30 exactly for my 8am interview time (the check-in lady downstairs wasn't actually going to let me up until 7:30 ON THE DOT) 

I was called in at 7:45am 

My interviewer was very nice, businesslike but friendly but we did chat a little about my country.

I swore to tell the truth, then we went through the N-400 question by question, and it took a while to add the times I had travelled out of the country in the 13 months since I sent in N-400, plus I had changed jobs so he made notes to that effect.

My questions were:

Who wrote the declaration of independence?

What are three of the original 13 states?

What is one state bordering Canada?

What is the party of the current President?

Who signs bills into law? (can't remember the exact wording)

What are the two main political parties in the US?

He asked me if I was able to attend oath ceremony that afternoon at 1:30pm, I think I might have said "hell yes."

 

We rolled around Southcenter and came back at 1pm. The ceremony didn't end up starting until about 2:30 as there was some confusion with the form version some people had been given and it took a while for the officers to confirm that the "wrong" forms were actually okay. Someone had arrived with an oath ceremony letter and not actually scheduled that day, not sure what had happened there but I hope the man had not had to come far because they did not let him join.

 

The ceremony itself was brief but more emotional for me than I expected it to be. We stood for the National Anthem and then there was an introduction by the officer in charge (Seattle Director not there that day) 77 people were becoming citizens that day from 27 countries. We all stood up as they announced our country of current citizenship and then remained standing as we took the oath of allegiance. We sat, there was some more speech and then the certificates were handed out. 

 

Super proud and happy to be a US citizen finally and to be done with immigration :)

I just got a text the my case finally moved to in line for interview, after 1 year and two week of having my fingerprints taken.

does anyone have an idea how long it normally takes from that stage till the interview?

Congratz! My interview is next week and I'm already biting nails! usually they give you a 2 weeks or 1 month notice, it depends on how busy your local uscis office is. I got my interview letter in the mail at the end of March.

I just had my N400 interview! Super early it was. My interviewer said there ceremony should be in about 2 weeks. So now I'm expecting the letter in the mail and I can not wait. Thanks God my hubby was able to be there for support.
