I personally prefer taking photos myself and then ordering 4x6 prints for around 10c. A print like this will accommodate 2 passport photos. The advantage of this solution is that you can choose which picture you like most and you have plenty of time to decide (and the price is best too).

Absolutely agreed. I wanted to do that too but I couldn't do it for some reasons, so Costco was my plan b. Their price is still reasonable compared to CVS and Walgreens which is $14-15 for only 2 photos.

I was scheduled for 10:45 am. Headed into the building at 10:15 am, passed security and went upstairs to the waiting room.

Waited about 30 minutes, used that time to refresh my memories on the test questions. The officer came out called me. Headed into his room and started off with an oath.

 

He explained the overall process of the interview and started with civics question.

- Name one state that borders Mexico.

- Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

- There were 13 original states. Name three.

- Who is the Commander in Chief of the military?

- What are the two major political parties in the United States?

- What is the political party of the President now?

 

I'm going to skip the rest of the experience because it's identical to others. Officer was very friendly and professional.

Because I applied for the name change, the officer had me to sign my name on the passport photos that I brought. I thought I wouldn't need it, but I'm glad I brought them.

Confirmed several papers to make sure my information was correct.

 

I still have doubts whether or not I should've requested a name change... (Just a personal thought) but all in all, everything was a smooth process.

The whole interview only took about 30-40 minutes, and I was out by 11:40 am.

however check the uscis site for your field office n400 processing timing. If you are date is beyond the published date go ahead and log the service request online processing time one and submit it. Philly office is very responsive to my requests irrespective of the result. So not sure about ur office I would recommend logging the request asap

 

i think Just like my case due to backlog some of the offices are conducting the interview without having all the paper-they need to review your gc, prior work visas etc. in my case they informed that papers need to arrive various offices. It’s any one guess how long it takes how in today’s era everything is so paper driven.

 

so it’s worth logging a service request. As an applicant you have every right to know ur app status . Let me know how it goes. All the best

 I completed my interview today. Last a total of 15 minutes. My IO first made me swear to tell truth etc, then went over my application. asking about trips and what I do for work etc. Then I had the civic and English test----I passed. She gave me a copy of Form N652 with results checked off that I passed test and congratulation my application recommended for approval. Now I have to wait for Oath in the mail. she also said starting from today it could take up to 120 days after examination to get a date. This is all bullshit --even though I told her they are way passed my processing time. But hey you guys ...I am almost there

Hey I see you are from the Bronx, I am too.I had my test today the IO said that the oath ceremony is scheduled as per our borough. I had the interview at federal plaza ....My Priority date was March 20, 2017. Hope that helps. Lets stay in touch

Yes, I’m in the Bronx too..congrats. Once you get the congratulations message you should be good. I can guarantee you it’ll be a couple of weeks for you to take the oath.

Today after I completed my interview...the vibes I am getting is I really think  NYC has a serious backlog problem.  Guess you have to wait until the deadline is up to put in a service request ...make sure you tell Tier 2 officer that you are out of the 120 days time frame since your interview. I think that a lot of background checks are sometimes not even completed before the interview...smh.. please keep me posted...I am rooting for you.

Hey I'm from Manhattan and I have my interview in 2 weeks at federal plaza, I'm praying I'll get approved right there so I can be relax!

I am not sure, I filed under the 5 year rule, but if you filed through your hubby I am sure he can accompany you to the interview. I saw so many couples today in the sitting area and was asked if anyone is accompanying me. I said no. and was given a number and told someone will call my number at door 1. Really it lasted about 15 mins or less.
