Hello everyone. Had my interview this morning under the 5 year rule.  Showed up 30 min early for a 11:45 appointment and waited about an 20 minutes to get called.  The agent was very professional and friendly. She has started with the civics questions (the questions she asked me were already printed on a A4 form) :

  • What is the capital of your state?
  • Who vetoes Bills?
  • What is an amendment?
  • what do we show loyalty to pledge of allegiance?
  • What is the supreme law of the land?
  • Who was the first president?
     

Then asked me to write a sentence "The capital of US is in Washington" went through my application line by line.  My IO was very professional and to the point, but friendly.  She said that I was recommended for approval, also said that I should be receiving my Oath schedule within 3 weeks with the scheduled date for a week later.

Good luck to everyone who are still waiting ;)

I will provide an update as soon as I receive the Oath letter.

Had my interview today in Des Moines, IA. Drove from Dubuque to Des Moines yesterday, had bad weather yesterday! A big pile-up (4-5 cars and atleast 3-4 semi's rammed in to each other) happened right behind me as I was driving on I-80. I was glad to escape that mayhem, people just need to slow down when it is snowing and roads are icy.

 

Interview experience:

Got to the office early today, was there by 10:10 for a 10:50 interview. The USCIS officer called me in around 10:30. The interview only took about 20 minutes. The officer was really serious when he called me, did not even shake my had or say good morning. We got to his office, went through the regular swearing and biometrics etc. After that the officer went over the N400 form, he asked me about my name, my wife's name, daughter name. We went over most of the yes or no questions before he started the other parts of the test.

 

Next he had me read Who lives in the White House? I answered the President. He has me write The President lives in the White House. He mentioned that I passed that ad he was going to give me a Civics exam next. He asked me the following questions:

1. What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?

2. Who is the Governor of your state now?

3. Name two national U.S. holidays.

4. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

5. Who was the first President?

6. What are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy?

 

After the 6th question he said you have passed, printed a paper and asked if I had any other documents to share with him. I handed him tax transcripts and court documents from the Iowa court for our daughters adoption. After that he had me look over a piece of paper to verify all the information i.e. name and date of birth were accurate. Then he handed me a printed paper with my A-number stating that I had passed and will be getting an oath notice in 90 days. So I have passed and now the wait beings for the oath notification!

Sorry folks been busy since my interview

i am still awaiting for approval for application it’s been almost two months and it’s been crazy ride

after multiple service requests, the philly office which is prompt is respond on Jan 19th responsed that application was approved and pending oath appointment schedule.

 

Next day receive an email that oath cannot scheduled as they need to do additional review of my green card application for n400. It is being shipped from vermont. Also the interviewing officer in on vacation for three weeks so please provide ample time for review and scheduling

 

well kudos for transparency but just not sure what is going. It really demoralizing and disappointment when others are walking away with oath appointment in front of you and I still need to wait for 1 and going. Just not sure what is going on. 

 

I passed the exam, clean app and interviewer said will approved after supervisor approval in a couple of days.....

The same thing happened to me. It has been 2 months since I had my interview, but I did not hear anything yet. The IO said "a decision can not be made now, we will send you a decision notice by mail". I did not do any service request yet. I do not know what to do. Please update me when you hear something.
