I agree - I still feel inertia - at least of thought - after 9 months of checking the website and waiting and waiting - I still feel like I should be doing something :D

They also changed my last name at the ceremony so after 12 years of being the "named immigrant" - I am even more confused now that this new person is no longer an immigrant lol :huh::) it's funny how we condition ourselves over the years.... a bit of a Stockholm syndrome between me and my old GC lol

The weird thing for me was that I received my renewed GC right after my Oath (applied I90 in January and N400 in February).  I called USCIS Customer Service and they told me to make an InfoPass appt at my local FO to surrender the new GC.  I went online and was actually able to make one for the same day, just an hour later.

Yes that was wild - I remember reading that and wondering how crazy it must have felt for you !! Amazing how such errors could be made....

Just Came back from an InfoPass appointment to check the so called "Residency hold" that i've been told by a tier 2 office.

I've been told that there is nothing called a Residency hold and that the case is still pending the FBI clearance. though i've been told over the phone that the case was cleared from the FBI.

I was also told that the phone officers don't understand that much. and she also told me that the NBC checks with the FBI only once a month which does not make sense for me.

Now it's been 258 days since i applied and last thing was in April for Fingerprint.

Any guidance will be appreciated as i'm really getting frustrated.

Your case is outside of normal processing time for Cleveland. You can check processing time here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

 

Therefore, you can file a service request here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

 

I will try calling L2 officer again, and this time, mention that you are outside of normal processing time. You may get lucky with an L2 officer that can schedule you on the spot. I have read that it can happen. However, more likely, they will open a service request for you and you will get a generic canned answer in a few weeks. Good luck.

I've filed a service request and i have not received any response in or after the time that they said that they will respond by. :(

Also i've made numerous calls to L2 officers and sometimes they give a frustrating wrong information. :(

honestly i'm exhausted from chasing USCIS :(

I got my interview yesterday at 9:45 am in the Raleigh/Durham, NC office. I arrived on time, had to wait about 10-15 minutes to get into the interview and took about 20 more minutes talking with the officer. I answered the 6 civil questions, wrote a phrase and pronounce another phrase, then the officer checked that all the info on my application is current and correct, fixed a little mistake I had on my N400 and added the dates of 4 trips I did outside the country after I sent the application. He didn't ask me anything weird or out of what I put in the application and was polite and straight to the point. I'm having the ceremony next Friday, Dec 15th.

 

Finally, this tedious and long immigration journey is almost finished. I have a trip outside the country on Dec 29th, so after the ceremony, I'm going to have less than 2 weeks to solve the passport issue. Somebody told me there's a fast track (by paying $$$, of course) to get it in less than a week. Find out about it is my homework this week.

Just went to the SSA office, without an appointment, here in downtown SF to update my info.  Office opened a 9:00AM and there was already a huge line when I arrived.  Went through security check and signed in at the computer kiosk to get a number.  I was called within 15 minutes and left the building at 9:20AM, they were so fast.  I will receive a new card within 2 weeks, because my old SS Card said it was only valid for work with INS approval.  Now only Global Entry left to update at SFO.

😭 seems Dallas FO is taking forever to schedule an interview date .... they currently working on applications from September 2016 😳 ... how long to we have to wait??  .... since April 21 we have been in line for interview 😭😭😭 

 

any ideas what happening in Dallas FO pls guys ?
