Hi I have a question. You have to have a police check when applying for the K1 visa at the interview stage. I'm in England and can get one quite easily. However I lived and worked in the USA from May 2015 until July 2016. So do I need one for the time I was in the USA?? As it was just over 12 months?

How and where do I get this from?

thanks for your help in advance.

You don't need one for the USA, as the American authorities will be able to run their own check on your criminal history in the USA as part of their background checks.

Another quick question. Is there a time frame on my police check?  I have one from November 2016! Is that too old?

Does it have to be more recent?

I think that depends on Country/Consulate requirement. However, the general rule(USCIS) is that the report be less than one year old If you still reside in the country. So in your case, I think that is a NO, you don't need a new one until November 2017
