We are leaving this morning for Atlanta GA for the weekend to see Hubby's Children. Just wanted to wish everyone a great holiday weekend!! May this be a weekend of hope and good news for us all!! :dancing:

2009-07-21: Touched (first time since biometrics) Perhaps address change?

You know speaking of easter, it's definatly different here in the US. I haven't worked for a company that has any holiday on easter. I'm now in a part-govt job and we don't get Fri or Monday off. Remindes me of Canada where everything including the Beer store closes on Friday and Monday.

So does anyone get Fri or Monday off here? I no longer remember it's easter at all until someone mentions it or I see an add on TV. Guess it's just not a big of a deal here as it is in Canada...

My wife works in a US govt job.and I'm pretty certain she doesnt get any time off for Easter!! I know she is working today (even though she is away working in another State,lol) and I'm pretty sure she is working Monday!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I believe Easter Monday is just in Canada and not the U.S.

As for Good Friday in the U.S., teachers get Friday off. They also have spring break next week! Not sure if that is everywhere in the U.S. though.

I'm wondering if the Montreal Consulate goes on holidays Easter Friday and Monday and am guessing yes which means I guess our Packet 3 being sent to me might be delayed until Tuesday at least!

I work in a grocery store... and we're actually closed on Sunday!... not that it really matters for me cuz Im always off on Sunday lol

But my husband works in a hotel and they never get holidays off or anything of the kind. I get a 4 day week and if I don't take my "holiday day" off, I get a day off in the bank :) So.. Im not complaining :P
