Just a thought, but is the reason why you really need your mom to come and stay for 5 months so she can take care of a grandchild?

You have been on VJ too long!

so changing 5 months to 5 weeks not good since they can see the previous application. Keeping 5 months for second interview will help VO to deny again. so it seems we have no other option.  Should I have only my mom to apply the second interview? and keep 5 months? or change it 2 5 weeks ?

What shade?

No that is no reason for mom to come, my wife does not work so she is the one going to take care of the child, but living a country with no relatives is not easy... so sometimes people need emotional support ...

5 months of emotional support?

Can not help but think the Consulate have done you a favour.

Have to admit, this crossed my mind also.

Tourist visa for family members is a stressful ordeal. My mom was denied a tourist visa to come to my wedding in the US. She tried twice and they said nop! I will suggest waiting for like a couple of months or maybe even a year and let them try again. It sounds like your parents are being truthful so that's a plus at least. Maybe become an American and that might increase their chances of getting a tourist visa. MAYBE..JUST MAYBE, the CO will believe that your parents just want to come and visit and then return back to their home country because if you really want them to come and stay in the US for a real long period of time or forever you will apply for a green card for them. I am guessing here.

i dont think people should throw shade. my friend had her mom come every year and stay with her for 6 months and it was never a problem!  some people want family around and if you or your husband can support the stay while she is here, why not?

lots of snowbirds live in the USA 4-5 months a year... i mean lets not assume everyone that comes to america for 5 months a year actually wants to stay and live here..

if your dad is a government worker he must have $$ and if your mom can afford to come here for 5 months she can go on other trips too! also, u say u dont work.. your parents have to go visit other countries and show a travel history on their passport!  that is the biggest thing.  i would suggest you plan a trip to meet them somewhere.  then try again and hopefully she gets a better CO.  if you want your dad here, i assume if he tries again he would have a very good chance of getting a visa before and then if he returns that could help him and ur mom appying together in the future.

So she left her husband and other children for 6 months?

Seems odd.

Most tourists have an idea how long to visit. OP seems to be fishing for a workable combination after mom's denial. That's the odd bit, and COs aren't new to this game.

Yeah she does! she leaves her husband back home.. she cant even speak any english! and she lives with the daughter and her family 6 months then goes home..they pay her food/rent/spending money ect (not that she really leaves the house much lol) she has been doing this since 2010 and no problems! her husband is back home and he never comes or anything.

im just saying, the OP isnt fishing but if you get denied at 5 months sometimes people just wonder 'if my mom comes from less time will she have a better chance of getting approved' it isnt fishing, sometimes people just wonder if coming for a shorter amount of time would get approved.
