Upcoming Interview at US Embassy Cassablanca

Hi Everyone,

 

My husband has his interview soon at the US Embassy in Cassablanca. What has been your experience with how soon you know that you are granted a visa and about how long does it take to receive it? I want to make travel plans despite the advice of the Embassy Webpage because the price of the ticket is cheaper booking in advance. I thought it would be save to add 20 days to his interview date. What do you advise?

Stop what you are doing immediately. 

 

Do not book a ticket until he has his passport and visa back. Even if things seem to go smoothly during the interview things can still go wrong - they make an error printing the visa, the consulate floods and shuts down for two weeks, the officer gets sick and has to be evacuated from Morocco. These things can and have happened. 

 

Nobody at the consulate will have any sympathy or expedite your case if your husband is in danger of missing his flight. 

 

20 days is not a safe bet, at all. 2 months is not safe bet either.

yes, one of our members was gratnted visa from casa and then it was revoked

and marked as so, on the passport / BTW only thing they said was they did not believe she had been there on last visit and she has sent them passport stamp page and photos 

make sure you have visa in hand 

now, he will know the day of interview if approved/ he will be told and asked to hand in his passport

takes about 2 weeks to process this

if they ask for additional documents may take a longer

i feel badly for the woman who had that happen. they can not say i was not there as we got married in morocco. have the marriage certificate to prove it. i have been there three times so far. i will be patient and trust your advice.

she has been there 4 times and married and honeymooned in Morocco

she has the passport stamps
