I would ask her.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Part of your visa conditions are that you do not rely on government benefits for a certain period of time. So unfortunately Medicaid is out. Talk to the plan administrator for your spouse, or go purchase your own.

i married my fiancee 3 weeks ago,can she get me under her health insurance ?

ps; i didn't send my AOS yet

Everyone living in the US must purchase health insurance or pay a penalty in taxes. You are free to sign up to Obamacare (federal/state exchanges), buy insurance privately via any private insurer in your state, or be added to your spouse's health insurance via work. Medicare and Medicaid are off limits to immigrants for five years. If you don't have any knowledge of what your spouse has, you should discuss that with her and work together to see which options you as a couple, can afford. It's not cheap.

I'm pretty sure it's 5 years. But I think there are conditions. I'd look at the conditions of your visa to confirm.

Did you or your spouse even read the I-864 or I-134?  Or does she habitually sign contracts without reading them?

Did you happen to read your state's medicaid eligibility page?  That would be a great place to start.

Why are you not talking to your wife about this?

Is your wife on Medicaid?  She sponsored you. She has the responsibility to support you. If you apply form government assistance they can come back against her.

Agree'd.

OP, Ideally you shouldn't WANT or even want to bother with government benefits. Your wife was suppose to show she, or at least, someone who sponsored you can support you. Talk to HER about what insurance she has and what she can add you too.

Yes, you can be added to HER plan depending on the insurance she has. Talk to HER.

There is a fine line though with IHSS providers. Its here in my lawyers pamphlet. Alot of USC's who are IHSS caretakers can apply for free health insurance through the state of CA. Then they can add their spouses for a low monthly fee.
