The oath ceremony is the last and easiest part in becoming a U.S. citizen. Did the applicant decide, at the last minute, to not go forward with this process? Sounds like he/she sent a request to cancel and USCIS complied. Is this a true "cancellation" or some type of postponement?

There was definitely no request for cancellation by the applicant! We've waited 6 years for this day and arranged time off of work, from classes, and arranged family and friends to be present at the ceremony and celebration afterwards.  We will have to wait until Monday to call uscis, and already scheduled an appointment with infopass, but Monday seems a year away.

it's less than 2 days till Monday. My father waited for 632 days (1yr, 8mo, 21days) from cancellation "due to unforeseen circumstances". He Fiiinally became citizen after 2yrs, 3mo, 4days since USCIS received his application.

When you call 800 number make sure you talk to tier 2, ask for transfer

Good Luck!

Yes, less than 2 days, still too far away.  Nothing we can do to get an answer until then. I recall when his initial app was placed on "administrative processing" and no one anywhere in the government and no attorney could explain what that meant or how, ongoing it would take.  I hope this doesn't evolve into the kind of wait your father suffered through!
