I just recieved my first letter since sending out my I129f, its called I-797, Notice of Action.

Is this considered NOA1 or 1NOA or is this just a letter stating they recieved my petiition? I also see a "receipt number" is this the WAC tracking number?

I feel better that i got a response because i no  w see its coming from the service center in CA where it was foward it.

An I797 is a notice of action. Both NOA1 and NOA2 are I797. NOA1 is the document you just received. The case number that starts with 3 letters is what you use to track your case. NOA2 comes in about 2.5 months provided your docs are in order. NOA2 simply says your case has been approved here in the states and is being forwarded to the prospective Embassy.

California is the slowest, but they are reliable and predictable.

Good Luck, you made the first step!

Now you can take that number and go to the USCIS website (www.uscis.gov) and register an account where you can view and be notified by e-mail when it has been "touched" or other actions. Just click on "Case Status Online and Processing Times", then click on "Create/Edit customer portfolio account". You then create your account with the number you have received from USCIS. Best of luck to you!

Congratulations on your first Notice of Action... With that WAC (case number), you can check online status at USCIS website for progress on your case. It usually takes 3 months to get approved or the so called NOA2, but in our case it took 82 days.

Good luck! Now, the real wait begins... Sit back and relax because you are in for quite a wait...

Congratulations! I never did receive the I-797 in the mail. But I know that they have received my petition as I can track it on the USCIS website. Just go to the website and register and enter your WAC #. Good luck on your Journey!
