I am US citizen applying for k1 visa for my fiance from Iran. my fiance had his interview on December 20th and was put on adm/processing. Does anyone one know long that might take? considering the nationality of my fiance and US ban on Iran.

Is anyone in the same situation?

Is there anything I can do?

AP can take days, weeks, months, or even years. Unfortunately, there is nothing to do (unless they are waiting on something from your fiance) but wait at this time, and occasionally check in if there's something they need from your fiance.

Did they say if he was approved at interview? If so, it could be for security checks, internal review, etc. You can contact them and ask specific questions as to where the application currently is.

i think given the current climate and executive orders that your fiance will not be able to enter the US.

It definitely depends on why they put him into administrative processing. It's kinda of a blanket term for "needs more work". But as said above, with the current political climate, your fiancé will have trouble getting to the US.

I also have an Iranian fiancé and we are now caught up in this political madness. As of now, the travel ban ( if accepted by the courts) will be an estimated 90 day halt. My feeling/ opinion is that it stands a huge chance of being revoked like the last one. Stay positive, don't give up and if things feel like they are taking too long, contact the OMBUDSMAN service. ( google it). They help! We had a huge delay earlier and enlisted the Ombudsman to help and they did!
