Hi vj family

What would you advice one way ticket or round trip for k1 visa holder, thanks

Whatever is cheaper (usually round-trip from most countries is cheaper). Just make sure to cancel your return flight once you are in the US so USCIS doesn't get the notification from CBP that you left the country and abandoned your visa status (happened before even though the person wasn't physically on the return flight).

Actually in this case one way is cheaper, was just wondering if it wouldn't be a problem going through immigration when he gets to the port of entry here

It makes no difference; K visas are dual-intent, so a return ticket isn't required.

OMG I didn't know that could happen. I got a roundtrip (was almost same price and it gave uneased relatives peace of mind <_<) and I didn't cancel my return flight. Thankfully I still got my GC with no problem.

I honestly think it's like a 1 in a 1000 chance that this happens. The airline has to mess it up and report it wrong. They were just lazy and didn't check the ppl physically present and boarding. I didn't know this was possible either until I read about that happening to two people on VJ.

Yay, my boo is finally here, he arrived on 3/4/17, now what? Can he fet a social before we get married or we need to get married first

I'm glad he arrived with no problems!

Yes he can and I recommend doing it ASAP because it's necessary to get pretty much anything done, and because after the 90 days, some SS clerks get confused and they may not want to issue a SSC to him. If he isn't planning on changing his name after the wedding, then he can go get it now.
