British citizen denied entry into the USA

Guy was born in Birmingham, lived in Wales and was leading a school trip to the USA. Has a British passport (and only a British passport), and had an ESTA. 

 

Any guesses as to what reason will be given ultimately for him being refused entry? Also Iceland isn't a country that does pre-flight immigration, so it seems strange he was "denied entry" before actually going through immigration once he landed.

 

I'll take the first guess:

I love the stories. Almost without fail the MDL jumps on them and stars flagellating about. Then the rest of the  story comes out  and we find out this poor persecuted man ran a hate site, published a blog supporting ISIS, or something else that identified him as a radical or got him on the no fly list.

 

Then when the truth comes out the deflections come or they dont accept the proof.

well then, good thing we've got your predictions right here in writing. nothing to do but sit and wait for whatever evil thing is going to obviously come to light since this man's name is, afterall, mohammad.

If the man was on a no fly list would he have been able to get his ESTA approved? You have to apply for it online. I would assume people on no fly lists get denied so they can't fly in the VWP. Would make sense.

I don't know but assuming he got denied because his 1st name is Mohammad is absurd.  Sometimes snafus happen, but I promise you there is a reason.

 First name is something else, the usual rags were covering it yesterday but seem to have dropped it, presumably they found out why he was refused and did not meet the agenda.

I was joking a little bit.

 

Clearly yes the truth could come out and show he is a radical. However it is more likely (in my opinion) that whatever reason was in error. Something like his name matching someone else who is a terrorist.

 

He applied ahead of time to travel, he was granted his ESTA. I would hope that system would limit those errors. It isn't fair to innocent people visiting our country. Especially a situation like this when an entire class of young people was involved and impacted.

The MDL refers to the Muddy Ditch Left. MDR refers to the muddy ditch right. I use it as shorthand to identify people or opnions on the far end of political stances. As if to say they are so far from the middle they are in the ditch.

Its kind of my running gag here, meant to be more humorous than anything .

 

Of course you have those dead in the Middle of the road like myself, but we are few and far between  and people like Teddy who usually travel in the wrong lane with the occasional tire in the ditch, but not really always in it. 

 

Since Lost in Blue left there are almost none of us left in the middle of the road .

There are a few of us in the middle, but we do seem to be a minority.
