Hey All!

I submitted my I-130, I-485 + I-765 mid-January to the Chicago lockbox. I had my Biometrics appointment yesterday - so now we wait.

I didn't submit the I-131 at the same time ( I have all the regrets about this now ) and reading through the instructions has got me all worried ( like every other step of this journey ) and now I'm planning a trip to London to see family in August, and for them to meet the wife.

My questions:

How do I get around this being travel for vacation?

In the research I have done, I have seen people say "just leave it blank" which seems like reason for rejection to me? Do I just not attach the separate piece of paper explaining why I qualify for AP?

How do I send in this form?

What should I write on the cover letter to make sure it get to my file?

Thank you all so much for this amazing resource!!

After filing for AOS. If you did not file for your EAD at the same time as filing your AOS packet, you may still apply for an EAD. You will however need proof of having filed for AOS. This is typically in the form of a "notice of action" or physical receipt from the office you filed at stating that they received your AOS packet.

^^^ This same process works for AP. No payment required as it is in conjunction with your I-485.

here's the letter I attached to the AP application - got approved no problem, with no specific dates -

Full Name S

Form I-131, Application for Travel Document

I qualify for Advance Parole because I am awaiting my Adjustment of Status interview. I would like to travel to my native country (name country) to visit my family members. [I would also like to take a short trip to (other country) to advance my research]. The duration of this entire trip would be four weeks or less.
