Fiancee Interview, can't fly back with her for her Interview

A lot of the posts I have read say that they recommend the US fiance to fly back to Vietnam for their fiancee's interview day, but due to my circumstances, I won't be able to join her on her interview day. For this reason I am kind of nervous. How many of you have had a successful interview day with the US consulate in HCMC without having your US fiance present? What would you recommend my fiancee do to have a successful interview on her own? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Honestly, It's rare that I hear of a fiance actually tagging along, not the other way. The petitioner is not allowed in the interview with their fiance in almost every embassy I have heard of. I believe more than anything, people tag along for moral support while waiting for the appointment in the embassy. Don't stress about it, it really doesn't make any difference whether or not you are there. You are not expected to tag along. :)

You don't know about Ho Chi Minh consulate, they welcome your partners to come with you to interviews, a lot of cases they interview petitioners some questions too.

You are correct on that :) What I do know going through the processes and doing the hundreds of hours of research is that you should still be fine. I would suggest looking at your country specific forum and seeing if other's have posted about this as well. If by some chance I am wrong and this embassy does in fact require it, feel free to let me know. The K-1 process, however, generally is pretty much the same regardless of the embassy with questions just varying at the consulate level. Good luck with it, but I do believe you will be fine! :)

I didn't attend my wife's interview for her K-1 in Ho Chi Minh City because she was confident in our relationship and evidence submitted we known each other long enough that she could answer anything without me needing to be there, so she told me not to come, and to use that money towards our wedding in the US when she come.

HCMC Vietnam interviews are usually much better if petitioner is there at consulate. Highly recommended. From our experience it was definitely very helpful fo me to be there.

Consider if there a way you can go later and reschedule the interview date?

Please don't give advice about countries and consulates, unless you've actually been there. You couldn't be more wrong about Vietnam. I was there for about four hours, watched numerous interviews, talked with others, and was interviewed by the CO after my fiancee was interviewed. We saw A LOT of denials, some flat-out and some requesting more documentation. Our American CO actually said it was good that I (the American citizen) was there. If your case is weak or has some issues, go to the interview. If it seems rock-solid, then maybe you'll be OK. It is wise to go, if at all possible. Risking all the time, money, and heartache because of a plane ticket and some time away from work is...well, not wise investing in your fiancee or future. Go to the interview. Otherwise, be very, very prepared. Vietnam is a high-fraud country that is not easy for the K-1.

Ditto on what everyone has said here. I flew back to be at the interview with my then-fiancee. The whole interview took 5 to 10 minutes and I was never asked to the window but the trip was all worth it. I even bought ticket ahead of the interview for my wife to fly back with me and that is how sure I was of the outcome of interview, but my main goal was to be there to offer her emotional support.
