That said, I find it laughable that we are to assume that the IO, or the officer at the POE, whichever case  may apply, has forgotten a question that is so important to the issuance of the GC that it falls upon the beneficiary to nudge them with a "gentle reminder." Such "gentle reminder" probably elicit an uninterested nod or stare back. They know their jobs. They are probably sitting behind a screen that has already alerted them, in this case, of the marriage date, when they punched in the data from a passport or scanned a visa/card/whatever.

If there is anyone in these forums who has ever given the officers a "gentle reminder"  and they responded with an "Oh blimey! Thanks, I had forgotten that," by all means come forward and say it.

Nowhere in this thread is a CBP  officer given a "gentle reminder" of something they forgot.

Think. Think again. Then think one more. This is something that is central to the decision of whether to give a 2-year card or a 10-year card. This information is already in file, including the electronic data the CBP officer is staring at. To indicate that the officers would forget to ask, and need a QUOTE gentle reminder UNQUOTE  is insulting to their intellect.

BUT if it helps, by all means, gently remind them. There is nothing to lose and, indeed, 8 years to gain, if at all they had forgotten.

AS someone who works in a regulated industry and deals with the government every day, those officials are people too. All people make errors. You are being absolutely ridiculous with your comments. Yes generally the CPB officer will ask how long have you been married, but if he does not and you have passed your second anniversary then it would be in the best interest of the immigrant to state they have passed their second anniversary.

I really cannot comprehend why you are trying to pick a fight.
