Anyone with a CCP here?

 

If so I was wondering how you approached the questions regarding weapons training and also concealing a weapon.

I recently sent off my N400 package and then applied for my concealed carry permit a week later in a "shall issue" state. I was called by the county yesterday and told to wait for my NOA before applying.

 

How did you get your carry permit before submitting your N400? Maybe its different in your state/county

I'm in NC which allows Perm. Res. to carry. I didn't actually find this out until I'd done my second course. I scrutinised everything and my very liberal Sheriff was super cool about it.

the only aspect that comes to mind is if the right to bear arms as a permanent resident is a federal right rather than just at the state level- since the N-400 is done at the federal level.

regardless, if you had received training and concealed a weapon, permit or not, you should disclose it. Also, I would attach a copy of the permit to the application so they can verify it... makes it easier and faster if you provide them with the info.

  • 08/14/2007 Emailed choice of agent ...i'm so curious when they will accept it...hopefully soon

  • 08/21/2007 DS3032 and AOS fee bill arive in mail

  • 08/27/2007 paid AOS fee bill
  • 8/28/2007 DS3032 choice of agent accepted
  • 9/3/2007 IV fee bill generated

Any updates on this curious as to what happened because I am in the same scenario but applying for GC and Not citizenship
