Question for someone out there: My fiance got his first Hep B shot on 12/1/07, but didn't get any others in the series yet, and we were looking over the supplemental form, and it shows Hep B shots, is it possible that it would be an issue with the approval of is AOS if he doesn't have other Hep B shots? I know that when I had them it was a series, but that was some years ago.

Would appreciate any experience or advice?

I have not completed my hep b shots either just yet, but I was told aslong as it shows I've started it on the vaccine sheet, its ok.

Also, I didn't think I was supposed to need the hep b vaccine cause I was "too old" for it but the nurse at my medical made me have it.

Assuming that your fiance is between 19 and 64 years old, he doesn't need the Hep B vaccine. The required vaccines for people in that age group are:

Td

MMR

Varicella

When I had my medical 2 weeks ago, I was told the Hep B vaccine would not be age appropriate in my case (I'm 26).

Phew, I was starting to worry about this too. My fiance has only had the first two (well, not so bad because he only needs one more). One less thing to complete at the same time we're planning a wedding.

If they are under 19 I would presume they would need to finish the course for AOS. There would be no point in having them if you are only required to have just the one. Just the one does not give you immunity. It would seem rather pointless.

However, if you are over 19 you don't need them at all. As has been said before, they are not age appropriate (certainly from the UK anyway, I myself can't say for definite if they are not required from other countries).

My son (age 13) had completed all of his Hep B shots before coming over here and, on the Vaccination Supplement, the doctor wrote "course complete".
