Received RFE to Prove Circumstance Of Meeting

i dont think they traveled anywhere during this time.. they also never crossed the border they BOTH lived in canada.. this is indeed tricky but canada is a low fraud country (u really shouldnt be having a hard time)

i would submit pictures of addresses, T4s should help, also google maps should help to show how close.. i know photos arent dated, but maybe date them?

it doesnt sound like they were 'preparing' for a K1 so during the time they didnt keep anything and they wouldnt have thought to hold up a paper with a date lol sounds like they were dating and now its like 'oh, lets move to america' which is fine.  

if you get denied the K1 then maybe just get married and do the CR1 since that would be much easier.

i would also get pictures and write on the back of them.. even if they arent time stamped im sure that would help.   and yes, affadavits from family/friends would help too.. check your email for ANY receipts on ANY trips you took together (think even buying a ski ticket online in your names.. i know this is probably newer then 9yrs together). 

i wouldnt worry too much.. just send this info in, show that he was in canada during that time and where he lived and u should be OK! if u have a problem do the CR1

Here's some food for thought.

Before I go ahead with the idea, some questions.

What was your living arrangement? Did you receive any bills in your name?

 

If yes, you can present those bills and payment receipts and maybe you can establish the proximity that you and your fiancee were both living in CANADA. Also write an explanation letter for presenting bills and the underlying purpose behind it.

 

Please shed some lights on this and advice any counter arguments this may face.

 

Can you travel to US? If yes, you can arrange one infopass meeting and can ask for solutions from local USCIS office.

I lived abroad with my husband before petitioning him. I sent in pictures of the Peruvian work visa i had that allowed me to live tbrrwith, and of my entry stamps showing the time I was there, and then tickets of us traveling together domestically plus pictures.

If you described how you met, as in initially met 9 years ago, this is not actually what they're looking for. They're looking for backup to your claim of "yes" in question 34 that you've seen each other in the last 2 years. It's poorly worded and has tripped up more than one person.

 

So, if you submit a description of your story and then describe a "most recent" meeting, with evdience that you yourself were living in Canada, and some photos if you've got them, that could work just fine.

There are apps that will add digital date prints on photos if they were taken with your phone. The information is in the picture file.

 

I also added purchases where our debit/credit cards were used in the same or similar place at the same time. Like someone mentioned, if this can be correlated to a photo date that shows you guys together, that can help. When did you get engaged? Is there a ring receipt? a photo of the proposal or the ring with your fiancée... time to get creative

 

A letter that ties up the evidence as already suggested is a good idea.

The OP stated they must reply to the RFE by May 5th.  Can these two meet in-person now, provide airlines/bus tickets, photos, of their meeting, and will that support their evidence of meeting in-person even though the evidence was presented/obtained after the initial K1 Visa application was submitted?

No, it has to within 2 years of the filing date. Otherwise you haven't proved that you have met the requirement at the time of filing, which, if you think about it, could lead to ppl sending applications before meeting.

Dit you ever go on vacation together? maybe you can still find some old hotel conformations, any reservations, tikets to events you went together.

And i would include text messeges where you cleary plan to meet at one of your houses, or planning for dinner something like that. together with you housing contracts.

I've had friends in the same situation. What they did was both submit copies of a lease of where they were living. Then added pictures with dates, and things like dinner reciepts and movie stubs. They got letters written as well as writing their own to explain their situation.
