No crime committed, the embassy is  not requesting the form but my lawyer informed me last Thursday that is a new requirement, I'm here in LA and to go all the way to Mexico City seems impossible, and I must get it through the Mexican Consulate here

My lawyer requested one too. The beneficiary will need to get a regular police certificate from their home state or the state that they have resided in recently. They sent all my paperwork to the NVC at the end of November so I believe we would have the same requirements. My wife was paranoid because they originally told her she would have to go to Torreon, get the paper, and take it to DF to get it certified and get fingerprints. That level is typically only reserved for people who have committed a crime and it is shown on their local police records. If neither the applicant or the beneficiary is in Mexico, your best bet would be to go to the Mexican Embassy in LA and get more information. It is quite easy to obtain if one of you is in Mexico

Hi everyone, we hope to join you soon!!

We are preparing for the medical and the interview, and one question I still have is about vaccinations. I keep reading conflicting information. The medical office says one thing, the US govt site says another, people's experiences say yet another.

What have people who have been through this actually been asked for - which vaccines?

My husband doesn't have any record of vaccinations and we don't really want to turn him into a pin cushion!

Where do I find the CORRECT information?

Thanks!!

Here are requirements.

If you lack documentation, they may require you to receive those you lack if they are required for your age.

Now a lot of vaccines you also get titers to prove prior immunization. Not sure if Knightsbridge would send them, or even if a GP in the UK would send them. You'd have to ask. Still need to be poked for blood, just not jabbed. (Like MMR - You can do titers)

Thanks for that link. I hope that's the definitive one! lol

So looking at that, the only questions I have are

1.   Polio. My husband is 43 years old. See how the line doesn't match up with the age range??

2.   I guess he only needs Td/Tdap, MMR, and Varicella.

3.   And God willing, we won't be in flu season, so no Flu shot?

and again, he doesn't have any immunization records, grew up in Morocco.

The doctor may run blood tests to see which ones he needs (ruling out those that he has high titers for).  He will have to take the flu shot regardless if it's flu season or not, :) unless he received it recently.  The link that @bcking provided has the accurate information, which should be the same as those listed here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/vaccinations.html  Good luck with your interview!

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

I am thinking about this cdc page more, and the title of the chart we're referring to: Requirements for routine vaccination of immigrants examined overseas who are not fully vaccinated or lack documentation.

Am I to understand by this table that a 43 year old would not have to get, for example, the Rotavirus vaccine even though he might not have gotten it as a 6 month old? It says NO under his age, so...?

Also, after thinking about it, it seems weird that that table wouldn't say that he doesn't need HepA or B. Am I reading it wrong??

Thanks Duncan21.

I'm not sure that the two lists are the same. This one seems to say that he would need to have all of them unless the doctor does a blood test to see what he already has. I would like to have that done by his (free!) doctor now, vs paying for each vaccine and test at the Embassy's doctor. Is that correct?

Any further thoughts on any of this? Thanks everyone :)

hello everyone, i have a question regarding bank account statement. We used the saving in our bank account to meet the poverty line requirement. we currently need to use some money from that saving account for honeymoon and wedding reception. My question is, will they ask for an updated bank account statement to be brought to the interview? thanks for the help.

I wouldn't go for the interview. From my understanding most Embassy s don't allow you in anyway.  I would go when she comes to the US. Crossing the boarder is more challenging then the interview itself.  So I've heard

Hi everyone, so glad I found this thread. My husband of almost 4 years now will be immigrating from Egypt. I just called the NVC because it's been over 8 weeks that I sent in all the documents and she informed me that our case is complete! We're super excited. She said we don't need to take any action until we receive the interview notice. I asked her if she had any idea of when that would be and she said no, so can anyone give me some insight on how that works? I guess I'm just looking for a rough estimate. Thanks in advanced and congrats to the case completers!
