Per interview letter a more recent police certificate is needed if, " He or she obtained a police certificate and submitted it to NVC more than one year ago"

So you need a new one after one year.

Hope this help

OK, thanks! I just sent out a month ago, but i was curious because when we got it they told us it is only valid for 30 days.

I'm probably in the wrong topic section... but here is my case. I'm petitioning my stepson who was brought illegally into the US as a child. His case is fine according to the consulate officer that interviewed us. The problem is me. The FPU is questioning my native born US Citizenship. They have his case on hold until it can get cleared. As soon as it is clear... he gets approved. But I found out very disheartening answers from my mother which make it difficult to prove that. Please help.
