 What is the recipe?
this is the soup I made today.... I got it from the site Recipe Zaar.. they have a lot of good recipes there... i like it better then AllRecipes....

Easy Vegetable Beef Soup

A hearty, satisfying soup that's a cinch to make in your crock pot.

1 lb ground beef *

14 1/2 ounces beef broth

16 ounces frozen vegetables (you can use any blend you want basically)

14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes

10 3/4 ounces condensed tomato soup

1 tablespoon minced onions

1 teaspoon italian seasoning

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 1/4 cups water

I also added a couple of bay leaves to the recipe...

1. In skillet, brown beef and drain off fat. Place beef in 3-4 quart crockpot.

2. Add remaining ingredients.

3. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

* I made little mini meatballs (about 2 tsp size) instead of just browning the beef because my hubby likes meatballs and then cooked them in the oven before adding them to the mixture in the crock pot...

I just read this post and got hungry! Any leftovers Marilyn?? :P

a bit.... but not for long :P

Awwwwwwwwwwww. Sad to have missed the meal, Marilyn. Sounds like, from all the posts I remember you making about such things, that you are a *most* excellent cook..your hubs is a lucky guy! I can cook as well, but I tend to get stuck in the rut ofmaking a lot of the same things over a two week period..need to find some fast (or crock pot is GREAT!) easy recipes....will be starting the 9/5 type job again soon, so will want quick things or slow cooker meals....if you have anything great, I'm all ears! ;)

I want some of that homeade bread...hehehe. We love soup here though, so think I WILL try your meatball soup soon...wish I had a breadmaker!!! When I want "homeade" rolls I have to buy frozen bread, make it into rolls, let it raise and bake it..they may be "cheaters" as my mom calls 'em....but they're scrummy! :) M.

Marilyn,

I just got a crock pot as a gift. I never had one before so I am a total newbie with it, so far just cooked one of those crock pot meals from the frozen foods section @ the supermarket. Thanks for the recipes, I am saving them too! :D

Sweet and Sour Pork for the Crock Pot

4-6 pork shoulder steaks (or about 1 pound and a half of cubed pork)

1 tablespoon cooking oil

1 can (15 oz) crushed pineapple (i used pineapple tidbits)

1/2 cup chopped bell pepper

1/2 cup water

1/3 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon quick-cooking tapioca*

3 teaspoons soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

In skillet brown the pork. Drain the fat. Transfer pork to crock pot. In a bowl combine the pineapple, bell pepper, water, brown sugar, ketchup, tapioca, soy sauce and dry mustard. Pour over pork. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Serve over rice.

*Instead of tapioca I used cornstarch. Mix about a tablespoon of cornstarch with some cold water before adding to the rest of the sauce....

I just wanted to mention that the original recipe said to use frozen chicken breasts.... but I wasn't to sure about taht... all the reviews for this recipe said it came out perfect using the frozen chicken breast.....

When I made it I think I used chicken drumsticks....
