Since we are talking about soups I will share my favorite tomato basil soup. This is the same recipe the french restaurtant La Madeleine uses. Its so yummy and easy to make.

Ingredients:

4 cups Tomatoes -- peeled, Cored And chopped

OR

4 cups Canned whole tomatoes -- Crushed

12 Fresh basil leaves -- Washed

1 cup Heavy cream

1/4 pound Sweet unsalted butter

Salt to taste

1/4 teaspoon Cracked black pepper -- Cracked

Directions:

Combine tomatoes, juice and/or stock in saucepan. Simmer 30 minutes. Puree, along with the basil leaves, in small batches, in blender or food processor.

Return to saucepan and add cream and butter, while stirring, over low heat. Garnish with basil leaves and serve with your favorite bread.

sounds yummy....

I have a simple tomato soup I make sometimes... take one can of condensed tomato soup (preferably Campbells) and put it in a sauce pan... Then add one can of milk, basil and oregano to taste and about 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese.. Heat through until cheese melts... It is soo yummy...

this is the soup I made today.... I got it from the site Recipe Zaar.. they have a lot of good recipes there... i like it better then AllRecipes....

Easy Vegetable Beef Soup

A hearty, satisfying soup that's a cinch to make in your crock pot.

1 lb ground beef *

14 1/2 ounces beef broth

16 ounces frozen vegetables (you can use any blend you want basically)

14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes

10 3/4 ounces condensed tomato soup

1 tablespoon minced onions

1 teaspoon italian seasoning

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 1/4 cups water

1. In skillet, brown beef and drain off fat. Place beef in 3-4 quart crockpot.

2. Add remaining ingredients.

3. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

* I made little mini meatballs (about 2 tsp size) instead of just browning the beef because my hubby likes meatballs and then cooked them in the oven before adding them to the mixture in the crock pot...

I just realized that today was Thursday...

Every Thursday, growing up, was soup and homemade bread or buns day and usually homemade cinnamon rolls for dessert ..... It was heavenly to come home and smell the baking bread.... :)

i love soup.... Hubby isn't a big fan, although he loves my corn chowder and my chicken tortilla soup... my mom made some pea soup when we were there last and he likes that now too and wants me to make some soon...

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
