Applying for K1 visa possible from Argentina with German fiance

Hi. I am an American citizen currently living in Argentina with my German fiance also living in Argentina. We want to relocate to the United States and I am considering the K1 visa. Can we file for that from abroad, and is my fiance eligible to do that from Argentina even though he is a German citizen and does not have a Argentine residency.

Yes, you can file from anywhere in the world, however, if your German fiance does not have legal residency in Argentina, they will have to go back to Germany for their interview.

Thank you for this information. So you think I could initiate the process from here and wait till we are in the interview stage. Once the interview is scheduled my fiance would have to fly back to Germany to take part in the interview? That works?

Sorry, I didn't reply sooner. Yes, that would most definitely work. As a suggestion, read up on reviews for the German embassy to see if it may be wise that the return to Germany is not imminently prior to the interview, plan on a few weeks ahead of time, just in case.
