Okay I am the one that is going to bust your bubble a little. The guy at the desk is not the guy that makes the decision if everythign is okay. I'm sure he was a Moroccan national working for the consulate and not a CO. He may be the one who does do the calling for consulate, but don;t worry if you do not get the call immediately.

Idir's received the 221g that stated only that the missing documents needed to be submitted. nothing about security checks. He was told he could bring the missing documents the next day but because he lives 700 kilometers and couldnt return that quickly, he was given a date 6 days later. 4 hours after turning in the materials to the guy at the desk, they called for him to bring the passport the next day for the visa.

And yes if you are cleared of name checks they can process the visa very quickly after the interview. It has happened.

There is no public list of names, but names that are common (arab spanish etc) are going to get more hits than other names. The more hits the more time to sort through it all. It's not just the spelling of the name either, but all forms of transliteration (eg Mohammed, Muhammed, Muhammad ) will ave to be double checked. There are many Moroccans that have arabic first and last names. Some Moroccan names are berber in origin and much less likely to get a name hit.

Idir for example tells me that maybe in all of Morocco there are 200 Idirs and his last name tere may be even less than that.

I think everything is looking very good for a quick call. By the way Yassine is an Arabic name but if his last name is Moroccan, I doubt there will lbe many hits if any.

Oh gosh, now I am feeling excited for you too. There is no call like it in the world and you will where you were when you get it!
