EAD Typographical error e-request

So...My husbands EAD came a few days ago. Theres a letter missing from his name. Somehow we didnt notice it on the NOA because the others we submitted were correct.

 

Anyway,

 

I found a link online for the Typographical error e-request. Has anyone had any experience with using this service? Can you please share from point A to B.

 

We called USCIS and they informed us to fill out a new form, mail back card and letter with explanation of the error.

 

Although it was our error, they said no payment because the I-765 is based on a pending I-485. But im wondering if this rule only applies to first time applications.

Which rule takes precedence?

Pay because the error was our fault

Or dont pay because its based on I-485

 

Also, the website says we should file the correction with the center that approved our original EAD. That would be the NBC. Do they accept fedex deliveries?

04/10/17: Biometrics repeated for EAD I-765

04/21/17: i-131 Expedite request

05/10/17: I-131 Approved at Infopass appointment

06/12/17: Local congresswoman contacted

06/19/17: Documents sent to congresswoman 

06/20/17: i-765 EAD Card is being produced

06/24/17: NOA hard copy received

06/26/17: EAD Card in hand

09/13/17: AOS interview

09/13/17: Green Card produced

09/15/17: Green Card mailed

09/18/17: Green Card in hand
