Packet 3 from Montreal - Contents?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I did a search and came up with way too many threads to sort through.

SO... could you please tell me what exactly is in Packet 3 from Montreal? Also what's on the checklist? I'm guessing it's things like passport, police check, immunization record, etc.?

If you go to Embassy info and choose Montreal, you'll see the contents listed... however there actualyl isn't an image of the packet 3 letter like Vancouver has, does anyone have a copy of what that looks like so we can get a peak?!

Also, Melthya, how are you being notified that your info left NVC and has been delivered to MTL?

I called and emailed NVC on Monday. On Monday they told me on the phone that it was sent that same day, and they emailed me the next day saying the same thing.

Someone told me about DHL tracking... there were two packages sent to Montreal on Monday, and I was guessing one of them might be mine. "MIGHT BE" - thus the reason for the question mark, since someone else did say that even if NVC says it was sent, it might actually sit in their mail room for a day or two before it's actually sent (but I didn't see any listings for Montreal yesterday.) Plus people are saying it takes DHL 2-5 days to reach Montreal, but all the listings I saw for Montreal in the past few weeks said they were delivered and signed for the next day (another reason for the uncertainty!)

Lance that would be great if you could... However, since you are getting a K-3, would your packet be different?

With the exception of the marriage certificate I would think that it would be the same. maybe someone who has gotten the K1 Packet 3 can confirm. Hope this helps

Just for clarification - are the photographs passport photographs, or photographs of me and my fiancé together?

Do all of these things have to be done before I send the checklist back? I.e. do I have to have the medical exam scheduled before I can check it off the list?

yep those would be passport style photos......5 of them

and absolutely no.......do not wait to have everything on that list before sending back the packet 3. get ur place in line secured as soon as u can.......with wait times at Montreal being what they are you dont wanna waste any more time than necessary and they should provide ample time to obtain anything ur yet to get.

i think for the k-1 , you're going to need an updated letter of intent as well as other proof of your relationship.

Thanks for posting that, C. I was kind of wondering the same thing... So you really don't have to send anything in except the checklist? They're not gonna check up on you to see if you have a proper police cert, etc??

Hmm.. are they supposed to be checked off though? If I don't have them but checked them off anyway just to get ahead in line, I would feel like I was being dishonest and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that at all. :S Hopefully I can just get everything by the time I get the checklist. Unless it is just to say ''I know that I need that and I am going to do it as soon as possible"

No you dont send anything from the checklist. Basically you're telling them you either have those items or you will have those items soonest.

Myunderstanding from the readings on VJ, many send the checklist back asap, especially fro Mtl as there seems to be a fair amt of waiting before u get the interview!!

Im guessing for the following which don't apply to me, I would just write N/A next to it instead of checking it ?

8. Court and prison records (Never been to court or prison)

9. Military Record (Not in the army)

10. Divorce and Death Certificates (Was not married before my current husband)

12. Documents for accompanying child/children (I have no children)

Do I need to write why it is N/A like above, or N/A is sufficient ?
