Immigrant Visa online status not updated in over 4 weeks

Hi All

 

I'm the petitioner (US citizen) for my parents immigrant visa. I submitted the online DS-260 end of December 2016  incl. fees and then sent over all the documents (AOS; copies of financial documents, police certificate, parents birth certificates etc per the checklist) last month. Have confirmation from postal service that everything was delivered on Jan 23rd, 2017

I've been using this website (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==) to track the status. Few weeks back, it showed a very simple message that the application is being processed. Today, it shows that I still have to send my documents. I do expect some delays in updating status etc

 

Does anyone else have experience on how this status page is updated? Any pointers on how to confirm that NVC did indeed receive all the docs and more importantly that it is complete. When can I expect to hear from them.

Hi. This is normal. NVC doesn't send a confirmation that they received your documents. They don't update it on the website either. I sent in my documents about the same time as you, and I called about 10 days later to confirm they received them. You can call them just to make sure; that's about it. They will notify you when your case is complete.

This is reassuring. I will call them on Tuesday to make sure they at least got it.

 If you haven't done it already, just be prepared that calling them is a total bummer. You'll be on hold for 40+ minutes and the music is terrible.
