I-129F ABANDONED

My fiancé sent off the I-129F forms in April 2016. She got a letter in October saying that her application had been abandoned because she never replied to a letter USCIS say they sent her in June. She did not reply because she never got it. Since then she has sent off three letters and also telephoned three times stating that she never received their June letter. They suggested that she could send off for a copy of the denial notice -  but she already has this denial notice. Does she have to start all over again (bearing in mind that the fee has now gone up from $340 to $535) or is there something else she can do? Many thanks for any  help you may be able to give.

A supplementary question. My father lives in Florida and has agreed to give me an affidavit of support should I need it. Should his I-134 "Affidavit of Support" be sent off with the I-129F or should he send it to me to take to the embassy when I am called?

Not required with the I-129F, some people do send it but it's not necessary until the Embassy phase.

It's not needed to be sent in. Use the guide on this site to see exactly what should be sent. London is generally a consulate that is a lot more easy to deal with. The I-134 and supporting financial evidence will only be taken with the UK fiancé to the interview.

The g-1145 is for the NOA1 only, after that you register an account on USCIS webpage where you check the box saying you want email/text notifications. You also download the USCIS case tracker app to your phone which will also give you a notification when there's an update to your case.

 

I ask again, did your receipt number never work? Was your case status never updated and that's why you never saw the RFE coming?

G-1145 is for NOA2 and RFEs as well.

I can't speak for last year, but many people in the Nov. 2016 K-1 filers thread got updates via SMS. It does get missed many times, but many people do get it too.

I just checked the newest form and under the part where it says "purpose of form" it still says it's purpose is to get an email and text when your application is accepted by USCIS. It's not a form for updates on your case.

I used the E-notification form and signed up to the website as soon as I could back then, simply because I thought it was the best way to monitor what was going on with the case. And it still is: it's really important for the parties involved to monitor their case statuses. It doesn't work well for every single person, considering there are times when the case numbers simply don't work or it doesn't update - but when it does work, it can really help in situations like these - where a paper document never arrives. If the applicants can see a notice is outstanding but it doesn't arrive in a prompt fashion - they can move to aggressively try and track it down. Never assume the USCIS knows what they are doing, because they surely won't sort it out for you.

Once again, a big thank you to all who took the time and trouble to reply to my questions. You people who use, read, follow and answer questions from new applicants/beneficiaries are exceptionally kind and helpful. My fiancé and I will try to be more vigilant when our new application is sent off shortly; we will also follow the suggestions you made so that we don't become more frustrated than we already are.
