Per the new medical examination policy that came in to effect November 1st (https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/Updates/20181016-I-693Validity.pdf), is anyone able to confirm whether this applies to I-693s submitted before this date?

My case was submitted June 2017 and I have my interview scheduled for January 2019. I'm wondering whether I will need to repeat my medical exam.

Thanks!

I went to interview on Dec. 3, and got the 'case under review, waiting for further notice' sheet as we were the last couple that day, all interviews were backed up that day and our interview only lasted 15-20 mins - passing 5pm that night - so the Officer just asked us some basic questions and collect all the additional supporting documents we prepared. The officer did say that our case is 99.9% chance to be approved.

So we waited the entire week - as of last night (Saturday, 12/8) my case status still didn't change - and now, Sunday (12/7) at 11:10pm, I was just refreshing the webpage and saw my status changed to 'Case Was Approved on Dec. 7th'. Not sure why the webpage was updated on Sunday, but we're very happy of the result!

My case receipt date (PD) is 12/14/2017, so it's almost a year that we got approved. Actually a lot faster than I expected knowing how backed-up USCIS has been! I filed in Queens and got interviewed in Manhattan. Looks like the New York Office is moving forward.

Good luck to all of you who're still waiting!!

I received my gc yesterday -12/14/2018, so it's exactly one year (my receipt date is 12/14/2017), in New York local office now. Good luck to everyone!

I am. PD date 06/27/17.. There seems to be quite the delay from May 2017 filers to June 2017 filers for interviews

I have seen nyc cases that have already gone to interview on May 17, but from brooklyn I have not seen any case, what date will that office be working?

My husband (the sponsor) got a letter delivered by DHL this morning saying "the above petition has been approved. The beneficiary of this petition will be notified separately when a decision is reached on his or her pending adjustment of status application". It was post marked the day after our interview, and it's now a week later. My online status has not changed, and I didn't receive a text message like other people  did… I think this means I'm on my way to approval?… Can I celebrate or…

What is your pd??

Hi, my wife is an October 2017 Brooklyn filer (still awaiting interview). Not sure if there's a better place to share this experience, but my wife and I (I'm a USC) decided to travel with her AP document over the holidays. Coming back at JFK we were put into separate lines (her in the "visitor" line) which is different than what I've read elsewhere. Her processing of course took longer (the non-citizen line was about an hour) and when she talked to the border agent he took her into the additional screening room. After reviewing her AP document she wasn't questioned any further and they stamped the document with "PAROLED". Everyone was polite.

I know traveling with an AP is a risk (we were anxious) so just wanted to share in case others have decided to travel despite the possibility of it complicating the AOS process. At least in our case it was very smooth coming back through the border.
