I filed at the end of April 2017, received my interview notice Sept 22 2018, and interviewed November 1 2018 (two years to the day that I received my K1 visa and entered the US!).

Interview officer told me that I have to re-do my medical (Done in Sept/Aug 2016-can't remember right now). He said that they recently changed the rules so that the medical expires after two years, however, I've obviously missed that extension date by a couple months.

Interview went.... not wonderfully, but not bad. He had a VERY strong accent and it was very difficult to understand his questions, which he fired off very very quickly. I was an English as a second language teacher for many years and even I had a lot of difficulty, so for my husband it was pretty overwhelming. Make sure you take the time to understand the question and ask to repeat if needed!

Still waiting for my RFE in the mail.

Hi all

My husband and I had our interview this morning (he is the sponsor). It was at Brooklyn Field Office. Our  interview was scheduled for 11:20am. We got through security by 11:00. We waiting until 12:45pm to be called in for interview.

As well as other documents, we provided bills for a phone plan in both of our names, and electric bill in my name. Our interviewer questioned why we didn't bring more utility bills that were just in my husband's name. Otherwise, nothing unexpected happened in the interview. She didn't ask us personal questions other than asking us both our own date of birth, address, phone numbers, and date of marriage. She kept a couple of our photos, and a bundle of print-outs of flight bookings from various trips we've taken together.

At the end of the interview, she handed us a receipt and told us we would hear back within 120 days.

Hopefully, it will be sooner than that!

I had my interview last Wednesday at Federal Plaza(but my field office is Brooklyn ) and in the end of interview officer give us paper about reviewing case and 120 days. Yesterday my status on egov.uscis.com changed to “new card is being produced”. And also, I didn’t had any joint utility bill(I don’t work, so my husband pays all bills), except phone plan. So hopefully you will get updates very soon too!

Hi Arashas62,

I filed in June 2017 in Brooklyn and this happened to me. I received an update on the app on September 26th, saying "interview canceled". I called USCIS a few times, and no one was able to give me a satisfactory explanation. Then, on October 10th, my status went back to "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview".

I called USCIS again a couple of weeks after this, and they advised that this was happening quite often around the country. Again, no real explanation as to why this was happening. They told me that all I can do is wait.

I hope this helps. My advice is not to worry about it, and your status should go back to normal soon. Fingers crossed.

Yes, Federal plaza.

UPDATE: Received RFE in the mail today requesting a new medical. However, it must be submitted IN PERSON by me on December 7th... leaving me 13 business days to get the medical done. I didn't want to schedule the medical before getting the RFE letter and I was advised in the interview on November 1st that I would have around 60-90 days after receiving the letter to get the medical sent in and that my lawyer would be able to deliver it if I didn't want to mail it in. Anyone heard of this? New process going on?

My husband (the sponsor) got a letter delivered by DHL this morning saying "the above petition has been approved. The beneficiary of this petition will be notified separately when a decision is reached on his or her pending adjustment of status application". It was post marked the day after our interview, and it's now a week later. My online status has not changed, and I didn't receive a text message like other people  did… I think this means I'm on my way to approval?… Can I celebrate or…

It means the 130 has been approved! 485 might still remain pending (background check etc.) but I think you should hear back soon!

Wow that's weird... have you scheduled your medical yet? I had mine done in a Flushing clinic (listed in USCIS website) last year - very fast and not expensive. I went there on a Saturday (some people came without appointment even) and couple of days later my exam report was out so I picked up on the following Saturday. It literally took me just a week to have the medical done.
