I am born and raised in NC and still consider myself a resident of the state even though I live in CA right now, but I am working my way back there soon "hopefully". Anyway, this issue is one of the biggest issues in NC at this point in time, right under the stupid HB2 law. What is not being said in the press about the voter id law is that when they first made it law, they allowed ANYONE in NC to get a free id card if you have the proper documents. Once that grace period ended a state issued id card not a DL but a ID CARD is only $12, yes only $12. A DL is more than that like $20. But the Democrat party literally scrounged around until they found ONE old lady that did not have an id card and did not have one of the documents they wanted. So then they made that one old lady the centerpiece of the anti-voter id campaign, until the state gave her an id due to the officer's discretion. 

Also one of the issues that the Democrats are bringing up and raising cain about is that college students with valid college ID cards but with no NC state id cards are currently not allowed to vote under that law until they get a valid NC id card. 

Don't even get me started on the Moral Monday's and how much of a hypocrite that "Reverend" is. I will try to find a youtube video of a guy y'all might like. 

 

Edit.... Even living out of state at the moment I can STILL find enough evidence to take to the NC DMV to get a DL there since I still own property there and have bills for my rental property.

Sorry but I don't see how that list in the article means that you were REQUIRED to have an ID (as in, you would be "turned away" if you didn't). I don't see anywhere that states if you do not have ID you will not be allowed to march.

 

It seemed more like a list of what you should do to ensure a safe protest. The ID part, to me, was in reference to the fact that if something happens (you get stopped by a cop) you should have ID on you for your safety. Most of the "DO's" on that list aren't really rules for attendence, they seem like ways to ensure a safe day during the protest.
