Renew Passport before GC Interview?

I was wondering if I could renew my passport before the Greencard interview? (I have the combo EAD card)

Since I'd like to have my married name on my home country as well before traveling.

 

Because once I get a new one, I will also receive a new passport number which will differentiate from the old one I applied with.

Could it cause problems or affect my immigration status from the renewal of my passport?

Are you sure you will even have a greencard interview?  We never did....

 

Is your greencard application in your old name or new name?

 

Changing your ID document will not affect your immigration status.  Does Germany allow you to keep your old passport?  Do they really change the passport number?

My application is all on my new name.

 

As far as I know, my country's law allows me to keep my old ID's in exchange of them cutting holes on it.

- And yes, you get a new number everytime you request a new one.

 

I'm sure I will have an interview, it is stating on my receipt number that they will schedule an appointment for me.
