Hi,

I have received this below just yesterday after filing for i-765 processing a week ago for an EAD.

"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status. This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your case.  This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your case remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your case must be verified with USCIS."

I am on L2 dependent Visa, valid until 30th Sept 2019; and wish to work as a teacher whilst my stay in the US.

I have a couple of questions, appreciate VJ-members having knowledge about these help.

I am asking here because my spouse holding a L1 visa does not have answers to my questions and supports me least in these.

While re-locating we came into US just last month, we did not have much time to discuss about my EAD although when there was possibility for me to apply for the same in the first weeks of Dec 2016. Sadly, it couldn't happen then. But my spouse has got Social Security Number (SSN) already now and my application towards SSN was not accepted, when sent through after me authorising my spouse and was asked to come back after my EAD card is received.

Hence, I request to help by your reply.

1. What is the next step after waiting for 7-10 federal working days mentioned above?

2. a. How long will the wait be for EAD approval usually?

      2. b. What next?

3. Will it be longer than 90days?

4. Will EAD card be issued straight way?

5. When can I start to apply for (SSN)?

Also there are several topics in the uscis.gov. regarding job seeking.

6. What's all about self check e-verify? Since, I do not have the (SSN) right now, how to go about?

7. Will it be later than September 2017 by the time I get a job and go through the i-9 form sections and related topics?

Please let me know.

Thanks and Regards,

How is the OP's status now? I hope you're fine and having job now.  As far as I know, EAD will take about 3 months to get approved, but I might be wrong.

And usually you can apply for SSN and get approved right after you arrive U.S. what's the reason you got rejected?
