Hello, after speaking with a few attorneys, they have advised us to do the spousal visa. No worries or problems with doing that on our end so I went to local courthouse and got a letter stating single and never been married, went to secretary of state and got the seal. I'm at a loss from there. I was told I must take it to the Chicago China Embassy because I live in Indiana, but I happen to be in LA for business. So my questions are:

1. Besides these letters with seal what do I need to take to chinese embassy?

2. Is this a same day service type thing?

3. Can I use the LA embassy?

4. If I must do in Chicago, anyone know of a good courier service I can overnight this to, and have them do it for me since I'm in LA?

If I can get this done I will go to China at the end of this month.

Thanks for help in advance.

buluke 1st let's put everything into perspective as to what you are saying, and trying to convey to us so we can provide you with meaningful, correct input   Your VJ profile indicates when you initially registered on the website that you were considering filing for a K-1 Fiance immigration visa, correct?  However, after consultation with several attorneys you have decided to get married and file an I-130 petition for your Alien Relative Spouse. From the information you've provided herein, I am interpreting that the document you've obtained is necessary and required to be filled so that you will be able to obtain a marriage license while in China to marry your fiance...correct?   In light of your questions, call the LA China Consulate and ask them. They should provide you with all of the information you will need as to meet their requirements.  Best of luck on your Immigration Visa journey.

This is used with iPhone. Wechat computer app will extract the data as a backup to your computer via android but won't identify an iPhone. It's a Chinese site but the major download button can be found In English and the program will install in what ever chosen language. It takes a little playing around to figure out but it is like a 3rd party iTunes.

http://www.tongbu.com/zhushou/ Is the website. Goodluck

Yes, all of that is correct however I have called probably over 20 times or more to call both the Chicago and LA offices and can't get a hold of someone to ask these questions, which is why I asked here. Thinking someone who had been through this might be able to shed a little light on the subject and give some useful advice.

Update, I kept calling number and finally someone answered. (I'd be ashamed to say how many phone calls it took ?) Very broken English from from what I gather for those of you in the future wondering, you have to go in the regignal office where your secretary of state paper was created, and will need a copy and original of this paperwork  as well as passport and a copy of it.  4 days is normal time but can get in 2 and if approved by consulate can get it next day. Hope this information helps someone.

Above poster. thanks for replying and offering suggestion.

If you need to get single status within the United States, you need to go with all the step you mentioned and get it notarized at Chinese embassy.

There is a easy way, since you said you are going to visit china, what I did was go to a US embassy or consulate in China and have them issue it, check the link below.

The Secretary of State (YOUR state) certifies the authenticity of the notarized document. The Chinese consulate which covers YOUR state must then certify THAT certification with a Chinese seal.

It is less effort to get the certification done in China, since it only involves a trip to the American consulate. Same day service. See Slution's post above
