I was just wondering if it is possible for my fiancee to get her medical exam done before we get our NOA2. I filed our petition mid-december and because of the holidays it looks like we will have to wait another month or two before get our NOA2. So I didn't know if she can possibly get the other stuff out of the way now while we are waiting.

Depending on how the country of the beneficiary works, perhaps; but I thiink a lot of countries need the case number from NVC to even schedule for this... For us, the Philippines wants to see a copy of the NVC letter with the country case number MNL********.

So for that you have to wait for the NOA2 then NVC to process it all.

I'm from Canada and the panel physician I contacted would not do the medical before I had an appointment letter from the embassy.

I know it's a lot of waiting with nothing to do, but there will be leg work involved once you're further along with NVC and the Embassy.

Hang in there.  My process from filing to feet on ground in America was 6 months, which is pretty quick, even though during those months, each day felt like it was a month.

Make sure if the doctor doesn't include a copy of the ds3025 for your fiancée that it is obtained during the interview at the embassy, will make the AOS paperwork easier (and save money on a civil surgeon)

You don't want to do that because it will increase your chances of her having to see a civil surgeon for AOS.  In Jamaica, you have to have a case number and confirmation of paid visa application fee before they will even schedule the medical appointment.  You don't get your case number until NOA2 is received and your case is sent to NVC.  While I can appreciate your efficiency and wanting to speed up the process, you just have to wait it out.

tritruong85 as the previous VJ members post advise you will need to have your case number prior to being able to schedule the medical examination appointment, and or the Biometrics appointment.  We realize you are elated and ecstatic in the filing of the I-129 for your fiance; however, you are wanting to put the cart before the horse... Likewise it would helpful and meaningful for you to complete your VJ timeline.

Vietnamese fellow here, your fiance needs copy of PKT3 (instruction packet from US general consulate, which is sent to your fiance) to get health exam as well as vaccination in Ho Chi Minh city.

I want to chime in on this... I got my medical 3 days after i recieved my case # from the NVC. Here in Germany thats all the panel physicians need no requirement for a interview letter. All embassy's are different though.. and then came along a huge backlog at the NVC and on Top of that we received a checklist. Paid a lot of cash- now it is even more expensive since they added another lab test- and my medical will expire soon (it's only valid for six months) due to those above mentioned delays. So i dumped money down the drain because i did it before i got my Interview letter. I would never recommend anyone to do their medical before they get their interview letter and are done with the NVC stage. Now a days the NVC is so unpredictable.

As of for me.. i am going to have to pay for another medical because i couldn't wait.

My recommendation for you: I know it is amazing to get a NOA2 and you are eager to get this process done and over with and gather the all the required paperwork to complete your petition and get a approved visa, but wait for your Interview Letter. :)

It is not possible. You will need your case # (the HCM-XXXXX number) and a copy of your interview appt confirmation in order to do a medical exam.

Really good information.  So if I read this correctly, once we get the PKT3, she will then be caught up on all of her vaccines?

Yes Mike, she needs her PKT3 which contains her case number to show immunization people to get her shots. Get shots before actual medical exam to save time. If you follow guideline in which vaccination is after medical exam, you will have to go back and forth couple times.
