Hello All,

I hope someone will tackle this post.  My wife is from Ukraine, and we have a 21 year old son that lives with us.  Approximately one year ago (~ April 2016), we applied to have the conditions lifted on my wife and son.  This April (2017), they will have been here with a Conditional Permanent Resident card for three years (we have actually been married for over 4 years) .  My wife will then file a form N-400 to become a U.S. citizen.  My first question is, is it OK to file for citizenship at the same time as the Legal Permanent Resident status?  Will it cause problems?

The second question is about their driver licenses.  My wife is in school, and my son is a service tech at the local Bimmer dealership.  Their drivers licenses expire in two weeks.  They have to drive so I can work.  The only things we have received is a letter that they received the request to become a LPR, but did not mention my son.  I called US Immigration and they said that this is the only letter they will send.  Actually, they did send a request for our tax filings, but that was last Friday.  How would we go about renewing their drivers licenses?  My wife is beside herself with worry. I know it is state dependent, but has anyone else gone through this?

I can't answer the question about the residency and citizenship but about the driver's license the NOA letter you got should be enough together with the conditional residency cards. When they verify, an "investigation" is done by an IO and if the son is included in the USCIS records for the application that you sent in, they will see this. Just go right away and do this.

Also, :time: it helps ppl , that are trying to help you :)
