I have a single 30 year old step daughter( divorced 2 years) who has a 4 year old daughter, They live in China, My wife is here in US with me still on her 2 year conditional  green card. Her daughter and grand daughter would like to come live here. Can I apply for them now or can wife? I know that a visitor visa is probably not an option since she is single. She is a business owner and owns her own home in China but have heard its almost impossible for her to get a visitor visa. Ultimately she would like to live here and be close to her mom. Any advise or direction would be helpful and appreciated.

Your wife would petition, she can upgrade to shorten the time if and when she becomes a US citizen.

Sounds a mess, start as a tourist visit, go for maximum time. Playing Grandad is fine but with the RAISE Act you need to be quick. It will not get through but a diluted type will.

She is a business owner and owns her own home in China but have heard its almost impossible for her to get a visitor visa.........  no problem, people travel in Europe daily.

The problem,,,,to get a tourist visa but to live close to her mother .... FRAUD on entry so needs to be clear in her action and speaking, if not, no visa without complications.

her mom has to file for her

the wait is over 6 years, if she gets a tourist visa she can visit but never overstay or she won't be able to get a GC, she can't adjust status in the US

her granddaughter will be included as her child's derivative

Ok I didn't know she could apply for her daughter while still on 2 year green card , thought she had to wait until she receives her  10 year. that's good to know. Yes we would not want her to come on visitor visa and over stay. It would be nice to have her visit while going through the process. Is there any advantage or disadvantage of which to apply for first? Or apply for both at same time?
