We are on our second round of filing to try to get my other half a k1.   Today is the two year mark.   I thought the second round would be easier.....but God it's not.   I feel like we are getting tried as a couple much more this time.   Out application was accepted nov 14th.

Anyone's input, stories, or thoughts are welcome.   Especially fellow second rounders!   Lol

Yes we did.   We hired a great attorney, and filed an i601 waiver.   He's from the uk

So the waiver was denied the first time? On what grounds did he need to have the waiver in the first place?

Is the waiver still needed this time or has whatever grounds for his ban/ineligibility passed?

We did have an attorney or file for a waiver the first time because everyone told us the conviction was too petty to be held against him (we were foolish).   He was convicted of smoking a joint with a couple of guys in the army when he was 18.   None was found, he just admitted to trying it.  So he got an army conviction.

Ah. Yes people who even just admit to trying marajuana once in their past even usually will get a 1 year ban just for admitting to it.

The lawyer assured us that trying a part of a joint 20+ years ago should be an easy conviction to get a waiver for, especially since he hasn't had so much as a parking ticket since.   But we haven't heard anything since November on either.
