After ingesting the fouled lasagna, we drove Mrs. T-B. to support Widow Amiga at the wake, across town man.

The church was populated with several Manyzens of family & friends, popular W.A. ma'am.

 

When we arrived, minister was giving inspired eulogy, quite good man.

He was doing it in partial sentences, method man.

Widow Amiga was beside him, immediately translating it into Spanish for her/husband's relatives, she man!

Our jaw slowly dropped further & further while observing her proficiency, wow man.

 

We asked Mrs. T-B. if she could do that well, ask she man.

Mrs. T-B. said, "No -- I don't know the Bible as well as she does," say she man.

However, Mrs. T-B. agrees that W.A. could make a lot of money doing translations, wow man.

Mrs. T-B. got mad at us on the drive casa-ward, mad she man.

We were taking a potentially dangerous curve/merge at highest safe speed, know what we're doing man.

She simultaneously informed us that the curve/merge was dangerous, distract us man.

We pointed out the heightened danger and useless folly of informing us of the obvious, distract us man.

She took offense, miffed she man.

We did not crash and made it to the casa in excellent, perhaps record, time, so there man.

We & Mrs. T-B. had another disagreement, disagree we & she man.

Mrs. T-B. thinks that MIni-B. should have come along to this wake, she man.

Reason would be to introduce him to the process before another close relative dies, insulate him man.

He would know and understand what was going on, reasons she man.

 

We objected mightily, object mightily we man.

We think that Mini-B. is too young yet, and unable to sit still through something like that, peripatetic wee man.

We think that we can introduce him to the process via discussion and perhaps books, more under our control man.

We had explained deaths of Uncle T-B. & Aunt T-B., explain we to wee man.

Mini-B. seemed to understand the concept of death, understand wee man.

 

We are open to opinions about the above alternative approaches, open we man.

I went to funerals at his age.  Children a) need to learn to behave and b) it does help them understand grieving, mourning, and death.  I agree with mrsTB.  

 

Had nails redone today... nail art did not end up as desired at all.  I'm tempted to go back and ask for a redo for nail art nails... or painting over myself.

I agree that young children do not belong at wakes, especially open casket ones.

 

However, the funeral of a very close relative might be appropriate depending on the length.

As our punishment for dissing her lasagna yestereve, Mrs. T-B. is going on strike, strike she man.

We are to find our own dinner for 2x2x2-1 eves, imitate Steveklar briefly man.

On way to office, we hit Aldi Foods for our bachelor supplies, adequate supply man.

(We bet anything that Mrs. T-B. will use some of it for her own purposes, wager we man.)

We did tell Mrs. T-B. that this week was anomalous in terms of lousy cooking, frank we man.

Maybe she will consider this and relent, relent she man.

If not, we get to cook & eat what we like, win-win for we man.

Even at my age I won't go to wakes or anything open casket for my family.  They had one for my grandfather. No I dont want to see my grandfather dead. I want to remember his life.  People deal differently with death though and all of us learn how we do it individually.

Stormy later here as well. Starting about 15:00 and on  into the night. I dislike after dark storms. Still no word out of AU, but there is still nearly a blanket power outage in Queensland. I am listening to their emergency radio broadcasts, but I am not particularly interested on the future of the cane crop. I want to know how the people fared, which, probably due to conditions, they aren't able to say with any certainty.

 

I don't think little kids ought to be at wakes or funerals either. I don't think there is a perfect age either, a lot depends on the child.
