Banks, accountant.....all ##### day long.

They tracked down where my payment went. It went to the Santander autoloans dept.  (I had to wring some necks).

Now they wanted me to make the payment for my mortgage, then the autoloan dept will send me a check back. Are they ##### kidding me?

Then Capital 1 sends me a bill for a 370 dollar late charge, with no explanation of what it is.

They were better on the phone tho. They thought my payment on the 27th of January was FOR January's payment.

I'm like, no....that's February's payment, you stupid Fing morons.....

But they straightened it out real quick. See if I ever pay them early again.

But a late fee of 370 dollars? Isn't that high?

My tax return is like almost 50 pages long now.

For once, I'm getting money back.....

Coming home, I got 3 checks in the mail...

 

And I managed to book 3 days of restaurants for the Disney trip.

The kid got a reservation in Cinderella's Royal ball room for breakfast.

And the Anna and Ana thing at the...um....wherever that is, Crystal palace?

 

So, the second half of the day didn't turn out bad.....

I'm trying to find out, through various roundabout methods, the welfare of a good friend of mine in AU. He is an American, who left NYC Paramedic job following  9/11, and came to work in NZ. Subsequently married and moved to Queensland AU. His home is 3 k's from Airlie Beach, and Hurricane Debbie pounded through there some hours ago, with winds of 245 KPH. Nothing on any of his social media pages since  yesterday. I'm sure there is no power, or anything else. It's just trying, waiting to hear. :clock:

For dinner, Mrs. T-B. served lasagna (good, man) but had added kale to it (gag, man).

She took offense when we pointed out the incongruity -- that of ruining a potentially outstanding dinner, ingest-yet-gag man.

 

The biggest, and least surmountable male/female chasm of understanding is this, see man:

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
